Forum: classic_tv Subject: My Mother The Car was an embarassment to NBC

Oh, sure...a man's dead mother's ghost inhabiting his antique car makes a lot of sense...........NOT!

NBC has some entertaining shows these days: "My Name is Earl", "30 Rock", and still going strong after 33 years (in spite of very few weak seasons along the way): Saturday Night Live.

All of them are two things My Mother the Car wasn't: Hit shows and FUNNY.

As for what I don't watch on NBC, who can argue that Law & Order (and its various spinoff series) aren't modern classics? The original has been on the air for 18 years now and the network has already committed to give it at least another 3.

I'd rather be raped than watch another episode of "Law and Order". "My Name Is Earl" makes me vomit.

I have no problem with you not liking those shows, and taking the higher road as usual I won't take it personally the way you have. :)

But to say even jokingly that would rather be raped......well again, your words! :)
